Report Wizard Updates
When you purchase Student Manager Report Wizard, you receive one year of software maintenance. After that period, you can renew your software maintenance for one or more years at a time. During the software maintenance period, you may install updates to the program and contact us for technical support.
If your software maintenance lapses, you can no longer install updated versions and are not eligible for technical support until you renew your software maintenance. The
dialog displays the software maintenance expiry date.After renewing your software maintenance, you can tell Student Manager Reports that you have done so by bringing up the License Manager, clicking Renew, and either entering the renewal code you were given when you renewed the software maintenance or clicking Online to have Student Manager Reports check our server and update the software maintenance expiry date accordingly.
If your software maintenance lapses, you are not eligible for updates to newer versions. If you install a newer version of the program, you will see this message and cannot use the new version:
Do one of the following:
Click Renew now to send an email requesting software maintenance renewal.
Click I have renewed to display the Software Maintenance Renewal dialog in which you can either enter the renewal code you were given when you renewed the software maintenance or click Online to have Student Manager Reports check our server and update the software maintenance expiry date accordingly.
Click Download installer to send an email requesting a link for the installer for the version you are licensed to use. When you receive this link, download and run the installer to revert to that version.
Displaying Logged On Users
The Display Logged in Users function in the Tools menu brings up a dialog which displays a list of those users currently logged into Student Manager Reports. This is useful, for example, if you need to install an updated version and need to know which users are currently logged in so you can ask them to exit the application.
Checking for Updates
The Updates page of the Options dialog allows you to specify whether Student Manager Reports checks for updates and if so, how often. If configured to do so, it checks our server at startup to see if a newer version of the program is available. You can also choose the Check for Updates function in the Help menu to manually check at any time. Note that this function is only available if you are logged into Student Manager Reports as an administrator.
If a new version is available, a dialog appears telling you some of the key features in the new version. If your software maintenance is current and you are logged into Student Manager Reports as an administrator, you have the option to download and install the update now. If your software maintenance is not current or you aren't logged in as an administrator, this option is not available.
If you install a newer version of Student Manager Reports and your software maintenance has lapsed, the next time you start the program, a dialog informs you that you are not licensed to use this version of the program. You must then either renew your software maintenance or reinstall the older version you previously used, since the new version will not run.
