Zap Charge

The Zap Charge tool allows you to clear balances for courses. For example, you can use it to clear old Escrow balances (course code is **ESCROW**).

Notes

• The tool adds a fee adjustment to the registrations so that they no longer have an amount due.

• If you are clearing Escrow balances, the payments are voided and no fee adjustment is issued. Instead the Fee Adjustment text is entered into the Reason for VOID field on the Payment record.

• The Zap Charge tool cannot clear balances from Archived courses.

To run the tool:

1. Select Tools > Financial > Zap Charge.
2. Enter the criteria in appropriate fields on the Zap Charge window. Course selection options and Fee Adjustment Description are required.

3. Click the OK button.
4. Confirm the zap charge action by clicking OK on the Continue? window.
5. When finished, the system will tell you how many charges were cleared.
