Variable 'fieldname' Not Found

When you run a report, the records that match your query are copied into a temporary table called a 'Cursor'. However, to save report generation time, all fields from those records may not be natively available in the Cursor. Most report aread only add the most commonly used fields to the Cursor.

If you have added a field to a report that is not available in the cursor, you will get an Variable 'fieldname' Not Found:

To correct this error, click the OK button to return to the Report Modification screen, and the incorrect expression box will open (note: if the error is in a variable, the Variable window will open with the incorrect variable highlighted) for you to make the necessary changes.

If the field is not in the cursor, you must use one of the Adding Field report functions to add it to the report.

Add Field for Export

Using a function to display a field on the report does not add it to the Cursor. For that, you must use a JUSTDOIT() function to add the field to the Cursor.

Contact your ACEware technician for help with writing a JUSTDOIT().
